The past few months have been a worrying time for all of us, and we are sure everyone is itching to get back to being on the field of play with their friends. Unfortunately some of our regular annual events, including our End of season event have had to be cancelled or postponed. We are still in planning phase for our annual Mini World Cup at the end of August, but we do have to advise it is highly unlikely that this event will be held in 2020. Whilst it is disappointing not to be able to play football for the past few months, these are unprecedented times.
However with the easing of restrictions, the FAI have recently developed a number of protocols for the safe return to football. Our return to training, on a phased Covid compliant basis, is now imminent. Some of our teams are returning to training in late June , some in July and some in August. Your coach will be in contact with you nearer the time that your team will be returning to training with detailed guidelines, dates and times etc.
In the meantime it is vitally important that you familiarise yourself with the following (and take action as appropriate) BEFORE your first training session :
- Familiarise yourself with the FAI Safer Return to Training Protocols (
- Be aware of the latest Covid-19 Guidelines from the HSE (www.hse.ie)
- To facilitate each training session we need approx 5 adult volunteers to act as Covid Compliance Wardens . Without these adult volunteers, training cannot take place . Please now let your coach know what nights you will be able to volunteer over the coming weeks.
- If you have not registered and paid on Clubforce for this season (due in Jan/Feb 2020), please do so immediately . Please remember if your child is not registered , then they are not insured and thus cannot attend training or matches.
Please watch out for social media posts , emails and WhatsApp messages in the coming days and weeks for more information
